Sandblasting in Malmö

Professional sandblasting and surface preparation for goods of all sizes. The foundation for a paint finish that lasts.

Sandblasting – Proper Surface Preparation from the Start

A paint surface is never better than its pre-treatment. Sandblasting is the most effective method for removing rust, old paint, mill scale and other contaminants that impair adhesion. Brantviks Painting Workshop offers professional blasting of goods of all sizes – directly adjacent to our painting workshop.

By combining blasting and painting under one roof, you avoid intermediate transport and the risk of the surface oxidising before painting. We keep tight control of the entire chain – from blasted goods to finished painted result.

Our blast room handles items of varying sizes, and we work with different blast media – steel shot, corundum and glass beads – depending on the material and the required surface profile. Cleanliness levels are verified and can be documented on request. The critical advantage of blasting and painting with us in a single workflow is that the surface moves directly from the blast cabin to priming – eliminating the short but crucial window in which a freshly cleaned steel surface begins to re-oxidise. The result is shorter lead times, fewer transports and a coating that lasts significantly longer.

What We Blast

  • Steel structures and welded components
  • Cast iron and forged parts
  • Pipe parts, valves and flanges
  • Machine parts with rust and old paint
  • Motorcycle frames and vehicle parts
  • Bicycles, bicycle frames and hobby projects
  • Furniture and metal art objects

Why Blast?

Blasting achieves a surface cleanliness level that chemical degreasing cannot match. At the same time, the blasting medium creates a surface profile (roughness) that increases the paint surface area and provides significantly better adhesion for primer and topcoat. The result is a paint finish that lasts years longer compared to an inadequately pre-treated surface.

Our Work Process

1

Masking and Preparation

Threads, bearing seats and sensitive surfaces are masked or protected before blasting begins.

2

Blasting

We blast with the right medium and pressure for the material. Goods of all sizes are handled in our blasting cabin.

3

Dust Removal and Inspection

Dust and loose blasting material are carefully removed. The surface is visually inspected and checked with cleanliness measurement if needed.

4

Direct Painting

Immediately after blasting, priming begins to prevent the surface from oxidising again.
